Searching From the Core (Poem)

We’re always searching for more,

Through the highs or lows,

We have a burning desire,

To feel more

Inside our soul.

Life is a series

Of seasons,

To discover ourselves anew,

In a process of love, opposites and desire.

We all seek expansion,

To escape the boredom and latent,

In the upbeat, chaotic world of our nation.

Some sleep walk,

Others persistently march,

Towards their destiny,

And follow the mark.

Others follow the pact,

And end up with back packs

Loaded with scrap.

As we contemplate

It’s all a choice,

Which inevitably,

Leads us back home.

If we simply listen,

Past the distractions

Of the chaotic disarray,

We hear the voice within,

Calling us to greatness.

Despair Made Me Stronger (Poem)

My deepest moments of despair,

Brought about my strength,

And perseverance and faith.

The moments I so wanted an escape,

Were the moments I prayed and praised

Despite the heartache.

The moments of despair

Reconciled me into appreciation.

It’s what pushed me to be grateful,

Despite the trash in my back pack.

This persistent wave of despair and depression,

Would knock me down

Aggressively without warning.

A constant cloud,

That would follow me

Just waiting to be poured on.

It’s my stiff upper lip,

My determination,

That pulled me through,

Despite my carry-on loaded with scrap.

Today I thank my despair,

Because in the end

It made me stronger,

Persistent,

And aggressively bold,

To not give in

Until my promise is fulfilled,

And I’m still standing,

Like a palm tree,

That bends, but never falls.

Love is a Compass (Poem)

Love is a compass,

A guided direction

To bring us closer

To our divine destiny.

Though we may not know it,

Every loved one brings us closer,

To our dreams,

And mission.

As we struggle to find the answer,

A loved one gives us insight,

To our divine calling and

Unanswered questions.

Though we fight or argue,

Love always sustains,

Because we’re all human beings

Interconnected as a whole.

Though some come, some leave,

The true ones always leaves a print,

And one step closer

To our divine destiny.

One step closer,

To understand to each other

And ourselves as a whole.

Worth in the Wrong Places (Poem)

Some search their lifetime,

For wealth, riches

And fame.

The exhilaration

Of riches, fame,

Compliments

And flatters,

All for possessions and a pay check.

They live their lives,

Trying to gain worth,

Through their name

And pocket-book,

And status.

Then when finally, their dream is fulfilled,

They have all the money they wished,

And compliments and flatters

Behind a hidden mask.

One day,

When the riches and fame

Evade them,

They lose themselves, in the process.

True Love is Inevitable (Poem)

True love is inevitable,

Like a magnet

That never ceases to attract.

Like a roller coaster ride,

That never ceases to die.

A true connection,

More than lust,

A reunion with a soul,

That we need for expansion as a whole.

A reunion that never ceases to exist,

As they imprint their name in our heart,

And help us fulfill our mission.

A reunion that’s unavoidable,

Because these two are meant to be,

Bound for connection

Ultimately, to complete our soul.

The Bully and the Victim of His Plot (Poem)

Bullying is a term, actualized by insecure people,

Trying to intimidate or ridicule,

Based on external appearance.

For if they were aware,

What matters above all,

They wouldn’t focus on petty things,

That doesn’t define who they are.

They hide beneath true feelings,

In an attempt,

To appear strong among the rest.

They need to belittle, to appear superior

Among the rest.

Always trying

To avoid,

Their frailty and disguise,

So they hide beneath insecurities, all day long.

So tell me the truth,

That bullies can’t conjure,

Whose the most insecure of them all?

The bully, the victim of his plot.

Seeking Peace and Unity (Poem)

We don’t understand the impact of our words.

Our actions spit out prejudice and malice

Among others,

Through nothing but ancestry and culture,

And skin on our bones.

Nation after nation,

We create our own competition,

Seeking one way to live,

One truth to accept,

Altering the meaning of prophesies into lies.

We don’t understand the impact of our words.

Our words spit out racism and slurs,

Not considering the lives

We affect,

Through prejudice and conflict and war.

We create havoc among each other,

Sleep walking and bashing each other,

To win some contest of better or not.

Let’s not forget our core,

Our reason for being,

To live peacefully

As brothers and sisters,

Let’s not contradict through lies.

Seasons Changing (Poem)

Every season,

Brings its own mission,

To pursue

An unending trail,

With mountains,

And fields,

And open space.

Weaving and turning,

As we find our compass

To carve the way.

Pushing through uncertainties,

And doubts,

As we feel our fears

And declare our wants,

And don’t give in.

We take our pen,

And write the story,

With a white canvas,

And a happy ending.

Some enter,

Some leave,

Some leave a tattoo,

Imprints their name.

As we simply accept,

Seasons changing,

But true friends

Always remain.

The Promise (Poem)

He looked into her dying eyes,

And saw the dreadful anguish

In her eyes, at 86,

While death is staring face to face.

She said why, oh why?

Why does it have to be this way?

What’s the point of all of this?

In a state of disarray,

From watching his loved one

Passing away.

He then promised himself,

On that very day,

He would never ask that question

On his dying day,

And he would live life to the fullest,

Until his very last day,

So the questions

Would be irrelevant,

On that same day.

Trust Without Reason (Poem)

He asked his father,

What can I do?

It feels like check mate,

I’ve tried everything,

I feel as though,

The weight on my shoulders

Is crippling me now.

Do I lay down?

And let the current sweep me away?

And allow the weight of the tide

To pull me down?

He said to his son,

What is unwavering faith and boldness

And persevering despite doubt?

The son replied I don’t know.

His father replied,

It’s to not know,

And still believe, despite reason.

It’s to say, I don’t understand,

But father I know you have a way,

And I won’t stop nagging,

Until my promise is fulfilled,

And my mission is complete.
